It is no secret that these days many guilds progressing through Trial of the Grand Crusader are experiencing wipes based not on a lack of skill but due to the dangerous phenomenon known as Lag (click). And it’s not the kind of, “Ugh, I’m tired of wiping. Oops guys, looks like I can’t play, too much lag“.
Players from all over Europe have been experiencing problems with this instance. We’ve tried several solutions but you always had the solution working for some and not working for others. Nonetheless I’ve composed a list of things that you can try and do to rid yourself of your High MS and some to fix your, unrelated, low FPS. And all of this without spending a dime. Let’s carry on.
Please note that not all of these options have been tried and test by myself and I will point out which have. The others were recommended on various other gaming websites scattered throughout the web.
MS/Latency/Lag
Leatrix Latency Fix – (Faltryd Tested)
This worked for me like a charm and greatly reduced my MS/Latency/Lag. Something I highly recommend but please read the entire information page.
LoweringPing.com – (Not Tested)
Who knows, most of you have most likely already seen this advertisement somewhere. I can’t guarantee if it’ll work or not but I do know some people that claim it has improved(reduced) their MS.
Low FPS
Gamebooster – (Faltryd Tested)
What Gamebooster does is that it turns of any unnecessary features and process that Windows offers. Which in return opens up more power that can be send to running your game smoothly, Tested & Approved!
Leatrix Gfx – (Faltryd Tested)
This is another addon by Leatrix designed specifically for low-end computers. LeatrixGFX lowers your graphical settings to the point where you’ll be playing with the minimum. Sure, it works. But at a price.
A suggestion made by one of the druids in our guild, Zotter, would be to run the repair tool. It’s a quick and easy (fix) that’s often overlooked. You need to keep in mind that this problem is situational to some extent as it’s not everyone that’s disconnecting.
I’ve kept it at two recommendations per problem, most of these pack together a lot of the quick fixes you see spread out over the web. For example, TheRealMethuselah, a user at mmo-champion.com made a thread which contains several macro’s that lower should increase your FPS by lowering your Graphics Settings to a point beyond blizzards video menu.
If All Else Fails..
You can always reinstall WoW. As some of you might have noticed, the disconnects are only happening to certain players. Not everyone is affected by it. Some of you might have been playing with installations that date back to 2004/2005. Giving it a nice reinstall should most certainly clean things up a bit. Just remember to save your WTF/Interface folders.
In general, you should notice a difference if you use the methods described above. Whether it’ll solve your problem and prevent you from disconnecting (In Trial of the Grand Crusader) remains untold. You’ll simply have to try it out, when you do, feel free to let me know about it here or at Faltryd.com.
