A couple of days ago Blizzard posted a full-time position at the popular job service Linkedin. The description reads: "3D Character Equipment Artist - NextGen MMO at Blizzard Entertainment".

Checking under requirements we find:

1. 2+ years game development experience modeling and texturing sci-fi and fantasy character armor and weapons for next-gen art pipelines
   

We know it will be a new franchise meaning no Starcraft MMO, Diablo MMO or World of Warcraft 2 and we also know that Tigole was pulled from World of Warcraft to run the new MMO.

So what could the new MMO be? A completely new sci-fi/fantasy franchise? First Person Shooter MMO? A Second Life competitor? Next-Gen Virtual Pet Management?

Blizzard haven't made a game in over a decade that wasn't a huge success so whatever they're working on its probably pretty awesome (even if it is a Virtual pet management game).
