A lot of addon developers put in a lot of heart and soul into perfecting addon masterpieces. While a lot of the major tools used by the community provide a monstrous pool of options that immerse users in a fantastic experience, some developers prefer to go the “mini” route by creating simple lightweight enhancement that make our life easier as we tackle content.

I’ve first come in contact with this website while on journeys of testing random “Minimalistic Compilation Packages” from Wowinterface.com. There were as always a lot of included packages that were quite hard to find through regular searches which begged the question “Where is all this cool stuff coming from”? Enter Tekkub’s Emporium of Random crap.  While the name might be a little misleading and suggestive of a site filled with useless tools, I can’t begin to describe how much I’ve gotten used to the lightweight alternatives that Tekkub has graced the addon community with.

Some of you might recognize some of those addons from your packages that you’ve opted to use completely out of the box and some of you might be shocked by how you’ve managed to miss out on such cool tools.

Most of the provided tools here are literally just lightweight replacements for stuff that is otherwise rather annoying or a tedious task to do. I’m going to list some of my most common ones and leave the rest for your personal experience.

Ampere – Addon Management Tool
How I’ve wished I could easily just enable and disable sub-components of addons without having to logout. Ampere is an excellent lightweight tool designed to do that with a very easy to use intuitive interface.



FriendswithBenefits – Friend list syncing
Unlike the famous sexual euphemism term used loosely, Friends with Benefits is an excellent addon designed to sync your entire friends list across all of your alts. It also adds your own alts to your friends list for easy mailing.

StealYourCarbon – Automatic Restock on raiding reagents
Another lovely tool to quickly restock on reagents you need. Candles, Poisons, Ankhs to name a few. Also supports automatically restocking material from the guild bank.
 
TekJunkSeller – Getting rid of those pesky grey items!
The easiest way to just dump useless loot you pick up along the way. This makes life easier for those of us who have autoloot enabled and suddenly find their bags full of grey material that can’t be used for anything. Just visit any vendor and tada! The problem is solved.

Teksloot – A simple loot replacement
This is a very lightweight implementation of the need/greed/pass window for loot. While Xloot is an excellent addon, this tool is aimed at the ones who enjoy the lightweight alternative. What I love most is seeing how many users clicked what!
