well,

first of all, it's not very smart to put a shaman on a tank, because we are just not made for it.

But it is possible to heal a 10 up to the first 2 - 3 wings, but after that it will be hard without any good back-up healing.

But if you want to keep on tank healing,

I suggest you switch your Chain heal glyph with lesser healing wave glyph.

And get the talent healing all 3 lvls.you can switch either your improved shields or elemental weapons.

THen I think you have a chanse to tank heal.

Its certainly not my idea to tank heal, and i don't know why he'd put me on tank healing when we have disc priests and holy pallies for that. Most of the time i just bounce chain heals off the tank and heal the melee and let the druids/holy priests worry about the ranged for the most part.

A guild hunter brought it up and said the change to tidal waves made is viable tank healers. ;x

Nab GM, get Holadin for tank healing or disc priest, shamans are made for Chain heal!

that's what i was trying to tell them, they were saying the lhw is better than the flash of light/whatever the pally uses, but its just not very mana efficient for us. :(

Well, first of all, you should get LHW glyph if you ever considered yourself helping on tanks. Can't see how ES glyph can be better then LHW glyph tbh. If tank healing will be your major role, then you might want to remove Riptide glyph and use CH + LHW + ES glyphs and use rotations like CH (tank as first target) -> LHW -> LHW, which is very mana efficient.

Second, you should get a Healing Way talent to boost Healing Wave, which will help a lot on spike damage and moments, when raid moves and you can go RT->HW for a fast big heal to keep the tank up.

P.S. Don't underestimate a shaman's tank healing abilities. In combo with Disc Priest were one of the strongest combos to keep the tank up together with securing melees with CH jumps.

GL on hard modes!

"One of the strongest" ?

You can't call us one of the strongest when we're third down the pecking order out of four healers. Yes, we technically can keep a tank alive, and on the Dreamwalker fight we can do pretty okay HPS. But unless your guild has major problems with recruitment and can't put the proper classes in the proper roles there is no way a shaman should be assigned to a tank alone. We're generally FFA healers.

Also, if you you've tested the new chain heal 4-set t10 bonus then you will pretty much agree with me and a lot of other people that shamans are too good raid healers now to put permanently on the tank. The bonus is sick.

I've completely given up on shamans who claim they are awesome tank healers and are equal to paladins. You cannot have much of a brain, specially now with the four set bonus, if you still claim that, it's complete and utter bullshit.

We are a support class/spec, we support the raid healing and we support the tank healing when its needed, we are versatile life savers, overall solid healers, not the best, we will not be topping the healing meters (unless that's all we care about which I hope it aint for most of you), we will be making sure we can heal people fast who goes dangerously low.

If you wanna play a tank healer, reroll paladin.

Do you read the entire post or just jump to the last post to reply? i told them that we're made for raid healing and it wasn't my idea to be a tank healer. We have 1 relieable pally and 2 unrelieable priests who we've been putting on the tanks but for some reason they're still dying. They're paying me to respec, just to see what happens, if it works good they're going to recruit another resto shammy to tank healer because i'm 4 badges away from having my 4 piece T 10 which i will get today.

My reply was obviously pointed at your raidleader and the idiots in this thread, not you which is actually more obvious than me not reading the entire thread.
